It's here.......the March kit from C'est Magnifique kits!  This kit is a combination of beautiful winter teal/turquoise tones in the UHK paper, and gorgeous blooms from the Blue Fern paper.  What an awesome mix!  Here's a look at the kit titled "Between Winter & Spring".

This kit is one of my favorites EVER.  I love the UHK paper (which is a neutral-colored resist on the back side), and the Blue Fern Garden paper is a perfect addition.

Here's a layout that I created using this kit and the UHK paper for the background.  The darker pink paper was made using the resist paper and the Art Anthology spray that is in the kit.  I love this fun photo of my nephew and his wife at their wedding reception.

Here's a look at the UHK resist paper that has been misted.

I love the sticker words that are in Magnifique Mixed Media kit (sold out).
They are perfect for adding a title that doesn't take up a lot of space.

Here I disassembled the Blue Fern Studios Jeweled Page Dangles that are in this month's Embellishment Add-on.   I wanted to add some black accents to this layout so I primed the chipboard with gesso, then painted it black.  Paint daubers are perfect for painting the chipboard with no mess.

My floral cluster was made using the lace applique that's in the kit, along with some flowers from the Flower Add-on.  I added a little seam binding from my stash.

I have a couple more layouts to share with you in the near future, so I hope you will check back.  Thanks for stopping by!

March Kit Preview from C'est Magnifique

The March paper has been revealed on the C'est Magnifique Kits blog.  I have been working with this paper while creating my design team layouts.  This image does not portray well the beauty of this paper.  The UHK paper is a stunning teal color with a resist background.  The other paper is the Blue Fern Garden line, which is beyond beautiful!

The March Magnifique Mixed Media (MMM) kit has also been released.  I love the beautiful spring colors!  These go fast, so if you want one, be sure to head over to the store.  I have provided a link for you.

I choose to receive the add-ons each month, because the awesome flowers and embellishments are selected to coordinate perfectly with the kits.  Here is the Flower Add-on:

"Love You"

I find myself using the word "Love" a lot in my layouts this month, but since it's February, I think it's only natural.  This is my first layout created using paper from the Blue Fern Garden collection.  I sure love this paper and the awesome detail that can be seen in the background.

I also used the Numbers Grid chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios to build my background.  I first primed it with gesso, used some Distress Stain, then some Distress Glitter.  This large chipboard piece is wonderful because it can be cut apart (if you wish) and used on several projects.  I also think it would be great for a birthday card.

This is my sweet nephew who had the most gorgeous curls when he was a toddler.  I have always loved this photo.  The drips on the background were created using watercolors, my new favorite medium.

Have a great week!  ~Valerie

You Make Me Happy!

I try to surround myself with people who make me happy. My nieces and nephews bring me much happiness.  I love being around them.  My niece Macy is no exception, who is pictured here with her momma.

I used the February Kit from C'est Magnifique Kits to create this layout.  I love the Manor House paper with all its neutral tones.  The kit and add-ons include lots of awesome flowers and embellishments to add some color and interest to the paper.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great week.     ~~~Valerie

February Sketch Challenges

I thought I would start out the week with a couple of sketches for you.  First up is the sketch from C'est Magnifique Kits.  They always have such awesome sketches each month and this one is no exception:

I created a very simple layout using the sketch, the February kit, "An Aura of Romance",  and a photo of my niece, Callie.  This was taken after her baptism.  It was so hot in church, and when we moved outside and sat her in the grass, she had this big, beautiful smile on her face.  It was so precious.  I love how you can see her toes from beneath her dress.

Blue Fern Studios has also posted their February sketch on the blog, along with some awesome examples from the design team.

You can find all the details for the C'est Magnifique Sketch HERE on their blog, and the Blue Fern Blog details can be found HERE.  I hope you'll take some time in February to enter the sketch challenges!
